The initial application to build was completed and sent to my engineer to lodge for me.

Application for CONSTRUCTION of an I.C. Vehicle:

Dear Sir / Madam
On behalf of the owner I am submitting the well-known vehicle design for initial approval.
Owner: Mr Leslie Canfield
Address:
Make / Model: ‘LOCOST’ CLUBMAN SPORTS CAR
Age: Build Date
Surrog. VIN: TBA
Engine Type: 2000cc or 2300cc ford or Mazda.
Engine Number: TBA
Transition Type: Toyota Supra 5 speed or Mazda MX5 5 or 6 speed
Body Kit: Steel tubing space frame from "Kleen Kote" from Smorgon Steel Blue painted RHS C350 P LO Purple End to AS 1163
Rear Track: Standard Nissan Pintara 1990 R31 Width
Overall Body Width: TBA
Wheel Base: TBA
The kerb mass of the vehicle will be approximately 650kg.

Nature of Construction:
The above motor car is constructed using a steel tubing space frame with fabricated suspension arms manufactured by the owner.
The vehicle is hand clad in sheet aluminium of fibreglass panels (mudguards, etc) from ‘White Pointer Fibreglass P/L’.
The engine, transmission, rear axle and front suspension will be mounted in accordance with the Engineer’s instructions.
It is driven by the rear wheels through a solid rear axle (1990 Nissan Pintara R31).
The front wheels are sprung by ‘coil over shocker’ units from a typical motorcycle.
Wheels are yet to be determined however 15" TRX aluminium Mags or similar will be used with appropriate rated low profile tyres.
Both rear mudguards are Fibreglass attached to the body and fully cover the wheels.
Braking is via a single foot operated pedal non-boosted dual circuit master cylinder with split reservoir and brake fail warning devices on each reservoir. Front and Rear disks and callipers are from 1990 Nissan Pintara R31.
An automotive hand brake leaver is installed from the 1990 Pintara R31 to activate the standard rear axle braking system.
The drivers and passenger’s seats are mounted to the floor through welded ferrules. Both seats have retractable lap sash seat belts or 4-point harnesses.
